Westfield Albany: Shopfronts and Canopies; Clerestory Windows

The selection of Miller Design for the Westfield Albany primary window and door contract was the culmination of many years of successful projects between Westfield and Miller Design:

• Westfield Manukau - Cinema Development (2007)

This project was the largest of all contracts undertaken between Miller Design and Westfield, and comparatively speaking was the most challenging. For a number of reasons, by the time Miller Design was able to get on site for the project proper, the timetable had shrunk considerably, with the consequence that those trades nearer the end of the project, including windows and doors, faced the brunt of the squeeze to complete before tenancies were taken over -  to miss tenancy handover dates is to run the risk of high costs of lost business, and is therefore unacceptable. However, even light of a constrained timetable, with some innovative thinking in terms of design and material, and some incredible commitment from Miller Design staff and sub trades, Miller Design had the shopfronts and main entrance ways in a finished state that passed the critical eye of the then Prime Minister, Helen Clark.
